Linear drains - modern and useful

THE ERA OF LINEAR DRAIN

The era of linear drains
The two advantages of linear drains that our Customers mention most frequently are their aesthetic look and space saving
Indeed, these drains are so constructed that their only visible part after installation is the grate. Regardless of whether you decide on the solid, tile-in or slim version, the effect will always be subtle and elegant. Linear drains are often combined with concealed shower sets, especially in small shower enclosures. This significantly increases showering comfort and thanks to the space saved you can count on a free range of movement.

The third-most important advantage of linear drains is the ease of cleaning. Their flat, flush-to-floor surface and the nook-free shower enclosure definitely help to maintain a high level of hygiene. The absence of protruding parts is also a pro, especially for the elderly or those with mobility problems.

With installers in mind...

Thanks to their construction, Laveo linear drains can be installed in shallow floors. This is particularly important in bathrooms in flats where the thickness of a linear drain often hinders its installation. Laveo drains have one of the lowest installation heights in the market: 52 and 62 mm.

You want a linear drain but cannot install it in your bathroom for technical reasons? The solution is an elevation in the form of a step of a few centimetres to ensure a free and correct installation.

Drain installation is much easier thanks to the special levelling feet that help to position the product steadily and correctly in the floor.

REVIEW OUR SERIES OF LINEAR DRAINS

BASSO - floor drains

Basso linear drains are classic floor models. They are usually installed a small distance away from each of the shower enclosure edge to ensure proper drainage. This drain is perfect for those with a rational approach to renovation who look for a quality-price balance.

The series is distinguished by its double-sided reversible grate, with which by installing one drain you get two design options. Firstly, you get a solid grate in uniform finish that can be matched, for example, to the fittings. Secondly, by reversing the grate and re-inserting special spacers that hold it firmly in the channel, you gain a tile-in version to be matched to the tiling.

BASSO - Wall-mounted

Wall-mounted Basso drains are a solution for minimalists who pay attention to aesthetic finishes.
They are installed directly against the wall, thus reducing the number of joints that can create visual chaos. An additional advantage of the wall-mounted model is that it can be installed from edge to edge of the shower recess, with no need for side slopes that are usually necessary for proper water drainage. This way you can glue a single large-size tile in you shower enclosure to obtain a completely uniform floor surface.

As in the classic floor version, the wall model also comes with a reversible grate, although wider by approx. 2.5 cm. Its one side is tile-in while the other is solid: glass or matching the finish of the entire drain. The grate can be reversed during the use of the drain as many times as you please.

SLIM - floor drains

The Slim series is the quintessence of industrial style. It was created as an expression of our local patriotism connected with the industrial heritage of Łódź where our company is seated. The narrow square steel grate is a form that - especially in the black and inox finishes - perfectly reflects the specific character of loft interiors. The collection is complemented by additional models aimed at minimalists who nevertheless try to follow interior design trends. These are versions in two shades of gold: regular yellow gold and fashionable rose gold. With them, the decor remains simple and effective at the same time.

Design possibilities

Due to wide interior design possibilities offered by linear drainage it is one of the most popular shower zone solutions chosen by interior designers and architects. First of all, it makes it possible to locate a shower enclosure in any place in the bathroom. It can be a recess with one, two or three walls. But the drain is also perfect for installation in the middle of a room without the need for any walls. Furthermore, due to its minimalist design, the drain is suitable for the vast majority of shower enclosures available in the market - with traditional or sliding doors, or walk-in ones. .

Our drains are also a perfect piece of furnishing to emphasise the style of the interior. Their key element is the grate that can be matched to the colour of the fittings, tiles or decorative accessories.

For a loft, the slim version will be a great choice. The classic style will be perfectly complemented by the inox finish. Black grates are ideal for minimalist interiors. The modern character of the bathroom can be emphasised with the fashionable rose gold. Yellow gold will suit the glamour style. And a glass grate provides a striking decorative accent.

In addition, we can say with absolute certainty that the tile-in version will be perfect for any style of your choice.

What should these drains be combined with?

The idea behind linear drains is to save space and thus ensure more comfortable showering experience. This makes them a perfect companion for flush-mounted shower sets that also provide more space. Such a combination is not only elegant but also aesthetically pleasing. Of course, instead of a rain shower protruding from the wall or ceiling, you are entirely free to install a shower column or other wall-mounted set in a shower enclosure equipped with a linear drain.

304 STEEL

Our drains are made of 304 stainless steel. It is a material with exceptional properties recognised not only by manufacturers of interior design products. Suffice it to say that 304 steel is used to make surgical instruments.

In short, stainless steel is extremely durable. It does not corrode. It is resistant to high temperatures and many chemicals. It does not deform due to mechanical impact (taking into account the weight of everyday objects). You will find it difficult to scratch it during your everyday activities. Dirt does not stay on its surface - so it is easy to keep clean.

Laveo drains are 100% Polish products. Choosing a Laveo model, you can be sure that the drainage you install in your bathroom was made in Poland and your purchase supports Polish economy.

INSTALLATION

“How to choose the right drain for my shower?” is the question bathroom renovators most often cope with. Despite appearances, the task is not that complicated. All you need to do is follow a few simple rules.

To ensure proper and fast water drainage from the shower, choose a drain with the length appropriate for the size of your shower recess.

A floor linear drain should be 20 to 40 cm shorter than the width of the shower enclosure, to leave a margin of 10-20 cm on either side. For example, if you have a 1 m wide shower enclosure choose a drain of 60, 70 or 80 cm.

A wall-mounted linear drain can be installed in the shower recess edge to edge or with a 10 cm margin. This means that if you have a 1 m wide shower enclosure, you should install a 90 or 100 cm drain.

Although it is recommended to install the drain directly under the shower (rain shower) or as close to it as possible, nothing stands in the way of installing it elsewhere, e.g. along the side walls of the shower enclosure. Bear in mind, however, that this may slow down the drainage of the water used in the shower, especially in large shower enclosures.

Another important issue is the correct slope of the floor. When preparing the floor, remember that the minimum slope required for the drain to work properly is 2% towards the sewer riser.

ACCESSORIES

In order to finish the small but quite problematic area that forms because of the difference in level between the bathroom floor and the slope in the shower enclosure needed to ensure proper water drainage from the shower, we recommend special sloped profiles. They are available in two finishes, inox and black, which allows them to be matched with installed fittings or the colour of your tiles.

With the profiles, you can aesthetically and easily complete the problematic area without the need to cut small, inconveniently shaped tile pieces. The 120 cm long profiles can be cut to the required length, depending on the size of your shower recess. They make tiling work much easier as there is no need for envelope cutting in order to ensure the proper drainage of water into the sewerage system.

! Before purchasing, pay attention to the side of the shower enclosure on which the profile is to be mounted and choose the right or left option.

If you want to prevent unpleasant odours from escaping from the sewer system, use our dry siphon (fitting all the Basso series models). Thanks to a special valve, the siphon has a one-way circulation allowing water from the shower to flow into the drain and preventing it from backing up. The dry siphon is recommended in bathrooms with underfloor heating or those not used for long periods of time. There is no need to install the siphon along with the linear drain - you can do it at any time during the use of your linear drain.
