White is a basic, most common colour in a bathroom. Why do we choose it? Most of all because it makes us think of impeccable cleanliness. Another important thing is that bright colours optically enlarge a space which in the case of a bathroom is often quite small. Moreover, it is easy to arrange – with appropriate accessories we can easily change the style of a room with white equipment. Last thing is the widespread availability of white bathroom fittings and sanitary ware.
The only question is: Which colours to combine with white in order to give a bathroom a modern look? We present 3 inspirations.
Black and white – timeless classic
Strong contrasts is a combination that is not only timeless but also very elegant. Therefore, its is often recommended to use black wall or floor tiles or accessories to white sanitary ware. Thanks to this, individual elements will be clearly highlighted and will present in a very attractive way. Remember, however, to keep a balance between white and black, so that the latter would not be dominant in the space.
Wood and white – closer to the nature
Wood (or materials imitating wood) in combination with white would give a bathroom a peaceful and harmonious character. This combination perfectly fits in recently trendy philosophy of Biophilic design, that is, a return to nature in the interior design. Additionally, various structures and colours of wood and a wide range of play on proportions will make it extremely easy to create a white and wood room perfectly adjusted to your taste.
Sea relaxation and white
The colours reminding of sea are relaxing, they make you think of holidays. Therefore, blues, azures, turquoises and deep blues are eagerly used in bathrooms. Adding white and elements made of, for example, wicker is not only modern but always fashionable!
