Frequently Asked Questions

Is a cabinet required to install a countertop washbasin?

Countertop washbasins can be installed on both a cabinet and a top. Bear in mind that its size should correspond to the size of a given model. Washbasin sizes can be checked on technical drawings provided on pages of specific models. For selection of a countertop washbasin mixer, please leave an adequate margin for its installation by the washbasin.

What resistance do granite washbasins have?

Washbasins made of granite can be characterized by resistance to: discolouration, scratches, impacts, thermal shock and high temperature of up to 190°C.

Are granite washbasins easy to clean? Can limescale and residues of soap and other cosmetics be removed?

Washbasins made of granite are easy to clean. To remove most of typical dirt forming in a bathroom (e.g. toothpaste residues) just use a soft cloth dampened with water. For stubborn dirt use granite-dedicated preparations (the same as for granite sinks). To clean granite surfaces do not use materials and agents containing abrasive particles. To facilitate cleaning, granite washbasins should be impregnated on a regular basis with a special preparation which fills micro-damages of the surface where dirt can collect.

Will granite and steel washbasins match white bath and toilet bowl?

The main advantage of washbasins made of materials other than ceramics is their diverse colouring which allows for creating original arrangements. Washbasin finishing can be selected according to fittings, tiles or other decorative elements. Combination of washbasin in colour or made of other material with white sanitary ceramics is up to users and their individual preferences.

Which washbasin is the best: ceramic, granite or steel one?

All Laveo washbasins, regardless of the material they are made of, meet necessary standards as laid down in applicable regulations. Granite, steel and ceramics show similar strength properties, while keeping rules defined in manual/warranty card, and are easy to clean. Selection of material is only up to the user.

What is the difference between countertop and furniture washbasin?

Both washbasins are different in terms of method of installation. Countertop models are “put” on a top and to install them you just need a hole allowing for connection of a waste trap. Furniture washbasins are referred to as topmounted washbasins. They are installed in cabinets or consoles dedicated to a specific model or in tops/cabinets with a cut opening adequate for the size of model.

Will steel washbasin loose its colour?

Finishings of steel washbasins – according to colour (black – powder-coated; copper and gold – PVD) – are applied using various techniques, each of which guarantees surface durability. If you follow recommendations for cleaning, maintenance and use as specified in the warranty card, the colour will not fade.

What are click-clack plugs in steel washbasins for?

Click-clack plugs in steel washbasins, apart from aesthetic features (plug and washbasin are provided in an identical colour finish), also have a practical function of opening and closing water drain in washbasin. Washbasin can be filled with water or drained by pressing the plug with your hand. Surface of the plug is flat so no residues of cosmetics collect there.

How long is the warranty period on washbasins?

Laveo washbasins are covered by: 2-year – steel, and 10-year – granite – warranty period, respectively. Washbasin accessories (siphons, plugs, mixers and other items included optionally) can be covered by different warranty period, the details of which are included in the warranty card individually.
