Frequently Asked Questions
Can we place hot dishes on a granite sink? Will this not damage its surface?
A granite sink is resistant to temperatures up to 250 °C. You can put a hot pot on it if you are sure that its temperature does not exceed this value. However, you need to remember that the temperature of the pot immediately after removing it from the oven may be higher than the temperature of the prepared food and may exceed 250 °C.
What is an automatic pop-up waste? Are all Laveo sinks equipped with it automatic plug in a kitchen sink and so all Laveo sinks are equipped with it
An automatic pop-up waste is a drainage plug that opens and closes the drain in a sink with the use of a knob placed on the edge of the sink. The main advantage of this solution is the possibility of draining the sink without the need to put your hands in it. Depending on the model, Laveo sinks are equipped with an automatic, manual or a brand new, button-controlled pop-up waste.
How long is the warranty period for Laveo sinks and what does the warranty cover?
Laveo sinks are covered by a 10-year warranty period in the case of granite material and a 15-year warranty period if made of stainless steel. Sink accessories (drain traps, plugs, faucets, and other accessories optionally included in the set) may have a different warranty period. Always check the warranty card for details!.
How to clean Laveo sinks?
The best way to clean granite sinks is to use special products intended for this purpose, such as a preparation for cleaning Laveo granite sinks.
To remove everyday dirt, we can also use traditional cleaning agents that do not contain chlorine and its derivatives. In order to get rid of limescale deposits, you can use a mixture of kitchen vinegar and warm water in a 1: 1 ratio, which should be left on the cleaned surface for at least 5 hours, wiped with the rough side of the sponge, and then rinsed thoroughly.
! Granite sinks should not be cleaned with abrasive and caustic agents.
The systematic use of products intended for the maintenance of granite sinks (An agent for maintenance of Laveo granite sinkso) – facilitates keeping the sink clean.
Do sinks discolor?
Laveo sinks are resistant to discoloration. However, you should remember about their proper use: do not use harsh chemicals to clean the sink, do not leave coloring substances and food products on the surface (e.g., beetroot, wine or lemon juice), and systematically maintain the sink with dedicated agents.
Do we have to use mounting clips for assembly?
All Laveo sinks have a set of mounting clips included. Their use – due to the large mass of sinks – is not necessary when assembling models made of granite. In such a case, it is sufficient to use silicone, which will protect the countertop from water, and at the same time will prevent the sink from moving during everyday activities. Other models made of steel require the use of mounting clips.
What is a click-clack plug for sinks, and what is its role?
A click-clack plug is a device, thanks to which you can open and close a sink drain by pressing it (we can do it e.g., with a wooden spoon with a long handle). The surface of the plug is flat, so that no food residues accumulate on its surface.
The click-clack plug is a novelty in the offer of Laveo – it has been added to selected models.
What are the functions of the protruding front in the Komodo sink?
The wide front, visible against the background of kitchen furniture, gives the Komodo sink a unique, original and effective look.
In addition to the aesthetic function, the task of the visible front in the Komodo model is to protect the kitchen cabinet door from dirt and stains that occur during the dishwashing. Instead of flowing down the surface of furniture, the water runs down the front of the sink to the floor, from which it is easier to remove it. Besides, the protruding front allows you to move as close as possible to the sink and take a comfortable position, which does not burden your back, during everyday activities.
